Crabbing Clinics

Learn the proper skills to safely SUP Crab with your experienced guides Dennis Gamboa and Drew Climie. Together we’ll teach you techniques on how to hunt and catch crabs from your paddleboards. You will learn the most efficient and effective way to crab off your SUP. This clinic takes the guesswork out of trying to decide what traps work the best , what bait to use where to drop and where to crab. Learn the skills to catch crabs in minutes not hours.
Gain knowledge and experience from the experts. You will go home with the knowledge to go crabbing on your own and with something to eat for lunch or dinner.
Note: depending on tides, this clinic may run over one or two days.

$30 + GST for Crabbing Rental Equipment ** Recommended
Prerequisites:
Basic SUP lesson or one year of paddling experience (must be able to get back on your board by yourself)
Age: 18+
Must have your own BC Tidal Waters Sports Fishing License and the Free BC Fishing App.

What You Will Learn
In this two part clinic, you will learn the following,

Review what equipment we need including traps, lines, floats, SUPs and safety gear

Review and discuss three different traps, pros and cons of each

Crabbing Regulations
Part One, On Land:

3 hours in length (allow for extra time after) this will depend on weather we are crabbing inflow or outflow condition

Risk and Safety considerations when crabbing from a SUP

Part Two, On Water:

What You Can Expect
Designed to give you the experience you need to crab in a variety of conditions and surroundings. Each location is different, each with its pros and cons its hazards and sweet spots
Still not Confident in going out on your own? If you have taken our intro and have all of your gear then your welcome to crab with us at one of our many crabbing hot spots.
Still Just choose a location you haven’t been too and we will get you the dates when the clinics held in that location or book privately. We ate fortunate here in BC that you can technically Crab all year round. Our Crab Clinics run through out the year and can start as early March and end in late October.

Why the fee ? Our guides have decades of experience finding hot spots crab nest and honey holes. These have been found through experience and trial and error. We save you time and money by sharing some of best and unique sup crabbing locations and guarantee that you will catch crabs.
Prerequisites:
Intermediate SUP skills or have completed our Advanced SUP Skills course
Have attended our SUP Crabbing Clinic or have previous crabbing experience
Have your own SUP, safety, and crabbing equipment or arrange for rental
